I love this set. Really easy but so satisfying.

Been Away For A While - Back Now!
Just some items that are going on Folksy. Most of them are ones that I made for my C&G course. I love them but have SO many things to wear myself that I really do need to sell some!

Lariat For C&G Course
This is one of the pieces that I had to complete for my course. It was actually a nice necklace to make as it worked up really quickly and I almost got it finished during the session at college. It is maybe not something I would wear, but I do like it and it does reflect the light really nicely. The colours were also out of my usual style, but the mix worked well.

I Really AM Crafting!
I have finished a necklace which is one of my final pieces for my C and G course. I need to make matching earrings for it. I am waiting for a bead delivery before I can start another necklace for the course. I also have a lariat to make and the final BIG piece for the course, which has to be from our own design. I have until November. At least I have done most of the writing up for each piece.
I do have a photograph of the finished necklace, but it is not very good, so I want to get a better one.
Diet still going well, despite a big upset yesterday, which nearly had me reaching for the biscuits. I have my first weigh-in tomorrow, so please send me really positive vibes at around 9.45am...

Necklace - Spiral Rope
I made this today, very simple and relaxing - just what I needed today after a hellish weekend. Mark and Max went out for a bike ride and I enjoyed the sunshine and quiet! I am now making one in blues for a commission. The lady wants something simple and fairly plain, for her mother. I think this will fit the bill nicely.

Peyote Discs - Finished!
Not an excellent photo of the necklace I'm afraid, so I hope to take another soon. But, you can see (along with my double chin) that it sits nicely on the neck. I made side bands of peyote stitch and attached ribbons to tie the choker with. The earrings are incredibly simple as the choker is such a statement piece. I wore it today, to show my C&G class and it was very comfortable, despite me not really liking things too close to my neck.Thursday, 16 April 2009
Peyote Discs Continued...

This is what I have done with the discs so far. I am making a choker and a pair of earrings and intend on being able to wear them to my course tomorrow, so they are going to double up as my TTNP on Crafter...oo tonight too! I think this is probably the most work-intensive piece I have ever made but I am proud that it is my own creation (apart from the actual pattern for the disc). I will NOT be making another one though as I think I could easily make these discs in my sleep now!Tuesday, 14 April 2009

Egyptian Style Necklace/Choker
This was made from a pattern I bought at the bead fair at Five Lakes yesterday. The necklace takes about 6 hours to make but I think is worth every second. I bought some bulk beads from GJ Beads too and wanted to use them, so made it in green beads. Not normally my colour but I might be persuaded after this!
I have tried it on and it is just longer than a choker and sits in the hollow of the neck. It will go into my Folksy shop soon, when my fingers have recovered!

'Bright' Partner Challenge
Further to the glimpses shown a few days ago, here is the finished piece. It is a very short necklace and the pendant hangs in the hollow of the throat. I thought that the chain should be understated as the pendant is large and colourful. Having tried it on, I can confirm that it is comfortable and hangs beautifully. This piece is going to go into the Crafter...oo Comic Relief Shop on Folksy.
