Commissioned card

My mum asked me to make this card for Dad's Brother-in-Law, who will be eighty soon. I really like how it turned out as I usually avoid doing cards for men!

My Mum and Dad's beautiful puddy tat!

Isn't she beautiful?! I have made both photos into cross-stitch charts and will do them both one day...

Kwerner Colour Challenge

I decided to have another go at the challenge as I really love the colour schemes that are used each time. It is a real challenge to use colours selected by someone else because it makes you think outside your normal colour comfort zone.

I am quite pleased with the result although it is a little removed from my normal style. I used an A5 card, so it took a little more effort to fill the space.

Summery Card

Here is a seaside card. The Mumsnet challenge made me feel all summery (well ice-cream does it for me!) so I got this idea for a card. I am really pleased with it.

My nephew's card

On Saturday, I was mortified to realise that I had missed my nephew's birthday! It is normally me who remembers ALL the birthdays in our families and I am not sure what happened. Luckily, he is not old enough to really notice and was away for the actual day anyway, so I had time to make this card for him...

Ear-rings

I decided to make some ear-rings using the chain-maille format again. This time I hung the individual loops from a piece of chain, rather than interlinking them. They should hopefully be stronger that way. I also hung a pearl drop from the bottom link, which I think gives a nice, dangly effect.

A 'berry' nice bracelet

This is made from the box of beads shown earlier in my blog, plus a few others. I was worried about red and purple together, but the colours are so 'jam-like' that they go beautifully.

My son is such a sweetheart...

He made me this 'aword' for being the best mum in the 'would' (sic)

I was really impressed with his use of colour in it though, even if his judgement in mums is a little off!

Two cards

I was just playing last night and quite liked this colour combination, so I made two similar cards. The paper is already adheshive, so they were really quick to make.

A Cat Card

I am quite pleased with this, although it is not my usual style. All the images were doodled on with black fine-liner pen.

My 100th Post!

I have finally reached 100 posts, with these 'faux' turquoise ear-rings. I think the french word is meant to stop you remembering that they are really 'fake' turquoise! Still beautiful though, and I do love turquoise, faux or not!

AND THE WINNER IS...

Ethel and Edna's Tearoom! Well done...well, I hope you think so when you receive the prize! Let me know your email address and I will send you something. Please let me know what sort of thing you would like and a colour if appropriate! I look forward to hearing from you. I will also post on your blog.

Two pairs of ear-rings

I had to fiddle with my Mum's agate ear-rings as the pin had disappeared up the hole in one of the stones! Seeing as I had them at home again, I took a photo of the finished article. She says she loves them, and has worn them all the time since I gave them to her. Hopefully, now I have added a seed bead on the bottom, they should stay put! You live and learn don't you!

I also made a pair of rope stitch ear-rings in blacks, greys and silvers. They catch the light beautifully because of some fire-polished crystals and I am going to wear them tomorrow.

Pearl Loop-di-loop for my Mum

My mum loves her pearl lariat that I made her and asked for a matching bracelet. So here it is!
I have also added a picture of the alphabet stamps I bought for 99p each in The Range - bargain! You can see them in action on the cards a few posts below.

GIVEAWAY...

Seeing as my blog hits are nearing 1,000 and my posts are nearly at 100, I thought now was the time to do a giveaway. Ideas on what to give would be fantastic so please do give me ideas. I was thinking maybe a simple bracelet or a pair of dangly ear-rings. However, I would be happy to give away some cards too. So...please post.

When posting, please add your favourite book. Mine is Pride and Prejudice, closely followed by Sense and Sensibility.

A green version...

Another bracelet and some cards

These cards were made with the alphabet stamps that I bought in The Range. 99p for a whole alphabet...so I bought three!

The bracelet is similar to the other three. I am experimenting with different colours and hoping to sell some!!! Otherwise, I will be over-run with beautiful but unnecessary bracelets!
