Gold and Bronze Bracelet

This has been adapted from the 'Cordoba' bracelet from Spellbound Beads. It looks fabulous on and has gone into my Folksy shop.

I really love the look of it on the wrist and have decided to give Folksy another go. Last year things got a little dark for me and I stopped believing in myself. This year is going to be more productive and happy, I hope.

Is It The Time of Year For Caterpillars?

Because this one has appeared on my beading table...

Actually, it is a 'double spiral with spiky and bumpy loops' from a class I did last year. During the class, I concentrated on other patterns and didn't make this one. However, my friend makes loads of them so I thought I would give it a go. I am about half way through it, but it is taking ages!

Cellini Spiral Bracelet

I think that the colours on this one are going to be like Marmite - you will either love them or hate them! I love them...they remind me of an old school tie. The Cellini Spiral is a very satisfying stitch as it is beautiful to look at and very sturdy to wear.

My take on the 'Cordoba' bracelet.

This is by no means finished obviously, but I wanted to show the beginnings of the second bracelet, using my own colour scheme. I think that turquoise and brown look lovely together and the hint of gold ties in nicely.

C & G Course - Week 3

These earrings are made using brick stitch and fringing. The course stipulates:

A loop for the ear-wires

Brick and ladder stitch

A fringe

Other than that, we could design our own. These dangle nicely in the ear and I would wear them after the course, so I am pleased with them.

Beading Day Yesterday

I had my monthly beading day yesterday and we did Herringbone stitch. It was really enjoyable and here is what I made...

The flat cuff piece has 3mm faceted beads put randomly into the work and it is really effective. The 'lumpy' piece will be a bracelet or necklace, although I don't like the colours on me. It will be going in my Folksy shop when it is finished.

Of course, when I got home, I had to have a play. My husband and son had not seen me all day, so a few more hours wouldn't hurt would it!? I thought about making another flat cuff in blues and greens as there is a 'Seaside Challenge' on the Crafter...oo forum. I thought that this would fit the bill nicely.

The Best Bracelet I Have Ever Made!

I am so pleased with this bracelet. It is a bit 'bling' but I love it! It is from a pattern from the new book and was very simple, if a little time-consuming. I think the colours are slightly Egyptian and the finished thing is a bit like a cuff. It is also very substantial to wear. I love it!

Although the pattern looks complicated, it is actually just two ladder-stitched 4mm cube strings joined together with loops.

I discovered today that the bracelet is herringbone stitch! I didn't realise that they were the same...doh! Here it is in another colourway.
