Tubby Tuesday - A Day Late (Again...)

It seems to have become a habit to post this on a Wednesday! I had no WW club yesterday, what with it being the festive season, so I weighed myself on my home scales. I had weighed myself before Christmas day, so I would have something to compare my 'after Christmas' weight with. The scales told me that I had gained two pounds - which I can cope with - and I am back on track, hoping to have got that extra off by this time next week.

Some Bits 'n' Bobs

These are Swarovski crystal earrings and the photo doesn't do them justice at all. They are really sparkly.

This set was made for my Mum for Christmas. Again, Swarovski crystal in with glass pearls.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

No need to say any more than that! Hope all you bloggers out there have a lovely festive time and a wonderful 2010.

Keep crafting and producing the wonderful items that you all make so well. I am going to blog hop more next year and try to join in more swaps. That can be my New Year's resolution.

Tubby Tuesday - A Day Late (Again...)

I lost 2.5lbs again, taking me up to a total of 32.5lbs. I was really pleased as I went to my husband's work party on Friday and had no control over the food.

Tubby Tuesday and More Bling

Weight loss this week = 2.5lbs. Thank goodness. You have no idea how hard it was for me to stay on track all last week. I have a Christmas do to go to and wanted to be in a positive frame of mind for that. At least I know that my dress fits and I will look passable! This ring is to go with the outfit. It is incredibly 'bling' but all my outfit is the obligatory black, so I want something to sparkle. I am making some earrings too - not too much but a couple of sparkly accents.

Swarovski 'Bling Rings'

Aren't they gorgeous! And to think that a few months ago I didn't like anything sparkly (unless the real McCoy!) These are from a book I bought in a cheap shop. I have recently been having a Swarovski spending spree and decided to dig the book out.

Tubby Tuesday - A Day Late!

I am so gutted. I gained half a pound. You know when it happens and you know why? Well, in my case, there was NO REASON for it. Honestly guv...

I actually stood on the scales and shouted, 'Nooooooooo' when she told me the news. Then I stood there, adamant that it could not be right as I had done nothing different from any other week. Apparently it could be water retention...hmmm.

Anyway, if I don't lose this week I will be ready to give up I think, and I really don't want to do that. My body seems to be losing weight every two weeks at the moment, which is ok, but it is really disheartening not to see results every week when you have been careful. Mind you, I have lost exactly 7lbs in the last 4 weeks, so I suppose I shouldn't complain.

Craft Sale At Local School

I would like to thank my friend Jane for inviting me to sell my jewellery at her children's school fayre last week. I managed to sell quite a lot of my work and had a lovely time. I would also like to thank my mum, who suggested that I make several pairs of cheaper ear-rings to sell to the littlies who needed presents for their mums. They all sold! We wrapped every thing in tissue paper and they all looked really lovely wrapped up. I also used the jewellery stands made from a pattern at Boo's Jewellery Blog.

The only downside was that I was next to the cake stall and all the cakes were calling to me. I think it was the closest I have been, so far, to falling off the diet wagon. There was this chocolate cake for sale in slices and...well, say no more. I didn't succomb though and managed to stick to my points - phew!

Tubby Tuesday - A Day Late!

I forgot to post yesterday and tell whoever reads this that I lost 4 lbs this week, and hit my 2 stone!!! Still a long way to go but it is in the right direction...

Oh, AND, I got in my size 14 jeans last night too!

Tubby Tuesday

I am so gutted - I stayed the same this week :-( I stuck to my points and did exercise, so should have lost SOMETHING. Grrrr. Anyway, I am going to see if a week with less snacking (even though I only usually have low point snacks) and more meal planning will help. I think I need to get more fruit/veg in and try to vary my meals more. No plateau-ing for me, I hope...

Craftwise, I have made two bracelets, but the light has been too bad to photograph them. I will put them on here soon. I am doing a bazaar a week on Friday, and have been making jewellery stands, to try and look a little more professional, so that has taken a lot of my time.

A Few Christmas Cards

These are very simple cards, but I think they are effective. I haven't been doing too much crafting lately, due to being addicted to the Sookie Stackhouse books (that TruBlood has been based on). Honestly, I read the first ten in two weeks and am now re-reading them! I seem to be always stuck behind a book. If you haven't read them, do!

Tubby Tuesday

WOW! I lost 3.5 lbs this week - colour me astonished! Four more pounds and I will have hit two stone. Still a long way to go but I am a third of the way there. My face has thinned out and I can notice that the tops of my arms don't look so flabby.

Tubby Tuesday

Lost another pound this week and got my 10% keyring! I felt a little disappointed at 'only' one pound, but I did lose more than expected last week, so shouldn't complain really. At this rate, it will be another year before I reach goal and I am finding that a little hard. However, I am trying not to look at the long haul - just week by week.

'Kay' Bracelet

This bracelet is the 'Kay' from Pandorion (£10.95 per kit). They have an online shop here and the lovely Jean Buck would no doubt be pleased to receive some online orders! It is a basic pattern, so great for beginners to intermediates. I have since made another one, in another colour, but this bloomin' winter light is too dark for photos at the moment.

Daisy Beaders - Christmas Items

I had another lovely day beading with Daisy Beaders on Saturday. We made the above items and they were great to make - not too hard, but enough to make you think. The bauble is not finished yet as I have to do the remaining tassles.

Tuesday 3 November 2009

Tubby Tuesday

Weigh-in was this morning. I had lost 2.5lbs after all that worrying. So, I am half a pound off my 10% key-ring (whoop whoop!) and nearly a third of the way to goal. Still a long way to go - think tortoise rather than hare - but good nonetheless.
When I get to 2 stone, I may even post another full-length photo. Lots of people who haven't seen me for a while are commenting on how different I look, which always makes me feel good. I had a personal trainer session at the gym yesterday (courtesy of three lovely friends) and even he commented that I 'look well' after not seeing me for three months. He bloomin' nearly killed me but I'll let him off just this once! I managed to do some running too, which is what I really want to be able to do. I have the Race For Life in my sights next year...

C & G Course

Sorry about the lack of posting in the recent weeks. I have been using a lot of my time in finishing all the things needed to wrap up the course. You know when you get that 'I'm totally sick of this' feeling about something you have not stopped thinking about...? Well, I have that now. I have even been making cards as an antidote. Despite all the lovely beads I bought at the bead show a couple of weeks ago, I don't want to do anything with them for a few weeks. Now may be the right time to get all my Christmas cards made...

Fatty Tuesday

Well, this week I managed to lose half a pound. This might not sound much but I have eaten out every day for a week, except Friday. I went to Southwold for a weekend with Mark, to celebrate my 40th and we did eat well! During the week, I had two desserts and a bottle of wine but managed to pick fairly good options other than that. I had a lot of fish, which is always fairly light and always chose vegetables as my side dish. The chips DID call to me but I ignored them...

So, a total of 17 pounds lost and counting. I must be careful not to eat too much this week, otherwise the excesses of last week may catch up with me - gym tonight!

Final Piece For C&G Course

A mobile phone cover!

The piece had to be something a little different from the work we had previously been doing, with a bit of our personalities thrown in. I spent ages trying to think of something and was originally going to make a framed, beaded picture. The only problem with that was the square stitch, which I HATE. So, I decided to go with tubular peyote and this project came to mind. It is not something I would make again as the time invested was huge and the cost involved was also too much. However, it is my own design and I am pleased that I made it.

TTNP & Coursework

I finished both of these necklaces in my C&G course today. The top one is to be used as a 'tatting' pattern, which is one of the stitches we covered - it is from a kit by Spellbound Beads. The second one is a netting pattern, taken from the internet. I did change several things about it though, to make it my own.

Christmas Card for 2009

This is the design that I am going with this year. No doubt it will mutate during production as I get bored making the same design all the time! It is simple and quick, but effective I think.

The Thursday Night Project - 22 October

This is mine...
I still have to do about another third of the necklace. It is a kit from Spellbound Beads.

Chinese Knotting DID Get Finished!

I still don't like the work, but I wanted to finish them. My mum said that she liked the purple one, so I gave it to her. I was glad to see the back of it as it just reminded me of impatience and frustration. She likes it though...
The glass beads were made by Wendy at my beading club. Her daughter has just also won the Beads and Beyond 'Beader of the Year' for the bead-weaving category. A talented mother and daughter pair!

Tubby Tuesday

Well, another week, another weigh-in. Except this was my fortieth birthday! So, thank Goodness I lost 1.5lbs! I have now lost a total of 16.5lbs.

I realise that I am sadly lacking in crafting posts. My friend told me off last night! I promise that things HAVE been made and I will blog them as soon as I can...

Weight Loss Tuesday (Except It Is Now Wednesday!)

This week, I lost 2.5lbs, taking my total to 15! I got my first stone in 5 weeks, so I am really happy. I know it will slow down now, so am just looking at the next half a stone. I was ill all last week and did no gym work or walking to school with Max. I was frankly amazed to lose ANY weight, because, along with the lack of exercise, all I had fancied was carbohydrates. Although I stuck to the points I was allowed, I thought I might retain fat.

Anyway, here's to the next half stone and let's hope it doesn't take TOO long...

Yesterday, I Discovered...

...that I have zero patience! I went to my Daisy Beaders class and we did Chinese Knotting. Well, you know Chinese Water Torture...this is worse. I would rather listen to a tap dripping all night than have to do this again!

You can see the pieces that I have managed to do. Frankly, if it were something I would wear, I would continue, but it is not my type of thing anyway. My friend picked it up really quickly and I was just awful! Luckily, the two ladies who run the club, Victoria and Sue, are really experienced and helped me through every hurdle...

I don't think I have ever spent a more frustrating day - grrrr!

Wednesday 7 October 2009

Woo hoo 2!

I weighed in yesterday. Despite feeling that I had not lost any weight, I had lost 3.5lbs! So, I have now lost a total of 12.5lbs in 4 weeks, which I am really pleased with. I know that it will slow down, but I do feel as if I have had a good start and I am able to do this long term. I just need to think to the next hurdle and not the end of the race. The finish line is too far off, but I can cope with 7lbs at a time.
