Stuff!

This is from a kit by Spellbound beads. I like their kits and the beads they use seem to have improved over the years. This is a bit fancy for my taste and was very labour intensive. However, the patterns that the company come up with are always unique, which is fantastic for learning new styles and techniques.
This is from a kit by Oak Tree Crafts. The earrings were really quick to make, but I was gutted to lose one the first time I wore them. Different ear-wires next time :(
These are my own design, and are totally made from sterling silver and Swarovski crystal bicones. They look stunning in the ears. I sold a similar pair to my cousin's wife but kept these for me!

Pendant and Earrings Set

I seem to be making a lot of these rings lately! I think I am going to stop now after I have finished the one I am doing now (which will be a ring).
I seem to get caught up in things until I get sick of making them and then never do them again! Little and often would probably the best way to be...

Groovy Earrings!

I saw these in Bead and Button and have been intending to make them for ages. I finally got around to it yesterday and finished them this morning. They were really easy to get to grips with, but they look complicated - I think that they are an amazing design. They are going in my Folksy shop (see link on right).
I lost another half a pound this week - which is REALLY strange. The only thing I can attribute it to is being unwell, because I did NOT deserve it.

Some Bits 'n' Bobs

These are Swarovski crystal earrings and the photo doesn't do them justice at all. They are really sparkly.

This set was made for my Mum for Christmas. Again, Swarovski crystal in with glass pearls.

Earrings For Course and Blog Giveaway From Calico Heart

Not a good picture of the bag as it is full of my stuff! The inside has a lovely lining and the other side is denimy material. If you want better pictures, go to My Calico Heart Thanks again Stephanie.
The earrings go with the necklace in my last post. I am inordinately pleased with them as they are totally hand-made, except for the ear-wires. I made the hoops and everything...(saddo, but pleased with myself!)

A Few Things I Have Been Doing...

All for my C&G course. We have to make 6 sets of necklaces and earrings. I have yet to make the earrings for the red and black set.

A Bracelet and Earring Set - C&G

...Without the earrings, which have yet to be made! I will post those when they are done. It is made up of square stitch, which I hate, but we have limited patterns to make the six sets from for the final work on the course.

Earrings

These beads are fairly large (about 2.5cm long) and have a lovely pattern to them. They look stunning as earrings. I have recycled them from an old bracelet that I never wore.

Orders From a Jewellery Party

A friend held a jewellery party for me yesterday (thanks Jo!) I did ok for sales but also took a fair few orders. I made the easier/quicker ones up when I got back will post about the other ones as they get done. I met a few very nice people and had a chatty couple of hours while getting rid of some of my creations - bliss!

Week 2 - C & G Course - Oat Spheres

Despite sounding to the contrary, oat spheres are not a breakfast cereal! They are beads made from 'oats', which are little plastic oval beads. This week we had to make several spheres and incorporate them into a necklace and earring set. I used a very simple design for the earrings, with a couple of Swarovski crystals on each to add a little sparkle.

I then used the earrings to inspire me for the necklace design. Because the spheres are fairly obvious, I wanted to keep it simple. So, I imitated the earring design and mounted the oats on eye pins, with more crystals and some seed beads. I am now thinking of a subtle but pretty way to link them up. Watch this space!

Week 7 - C and G Course

This week we needed to make ear-rings with 5 rows of 4 bugles, with a specified minimum length for the ear-wire dropper loop. We all followed a pattern that we were given and mine came out like this...

I rather like it actually. The twisted bugles give a lovely 'wrought iron' look (plagarised from my class tutor!) and there is also a snake/water look, depending on how you see things.

C & G Course - Week 3

These earrings are made using brick stitch and fringing. The course stipulates:
A loop for the ear-wires
Brick and ladder stitch
A fringe
Other than that, we could design our own. These dangle nicely in the ear and I would wear them after the course, so I am pleased with them.

Dutch Swirl Ear-Rings and an Updated Necklace

I got the pattern for these from one of my new books (recently blogged). They were simple to make and I think they are really effective. A bit too glitzy for the school run maybe, but perfect for all the Christmas parties coming up...

And this is a necklace I made a while back. My friend wants to buy it and asked me to shorten it for her. She ordered a pair of matching ear-rings from the removed beads! Waste not, want not!

Some More Ear-rings From the Same Book

Ear-rings Made From a Book Pattern

These ear-rings were taken from a book by Stephanie Burnham (linked to earlier in this blog.) Instead of Nymo thread, I used tigertail and a crimp cover. They are really strong, unlike the version I made with Nymo and I am much happier with them this way. They are going in my Folksy shop.

Onyx and Haematite Ear-Rings

Not good photos, but you should get the idea! The smaller ones are very simple and the long ones are very glam!

EDIT 16/08/08: I have improved the photos!

Vesonite Chip Ear-Rings

A friend of mine was wearing some ear-rings similar to these the other day, but with tiny, blue chips. I decided to have a go with these green ones as I have been looking to use them for some time. I rather like them but they are going in my shop.
