Pearl's A Singer

I made this bracelet in about two hours and I think it is really pretty. I used freshwater pearls with gold lined 11° beads.

I Have Been Redecorated!

Some of you may have seen that Blogger had updated their templates. I had been meaning to have a look so, this morning I did! When I saw the choice, I just had to set up a new page for myself - it would have been rude not to!

I hope you like it. It is a little busy but I think it just takes a bit of getting used to after the really plain one that I had previously.

Swarovski Jewels on my Shop...

Both of these catch the light beautifully. As usual, photographs don't capture the real glitter of them. Imagine wearing the bracelet on a sunny day, moving your arm and watching the light glisten on your wrist.
The earrings only have a small drop, but have enough movement that they will also catch each sunbeam.

Twisted Bracelet

This bracelet is made using tigertail and then twisting the strands. I then threaded ribbon through, and this has the added bonus of acting as a safety catch in the clasp.

Four of My Bracelets

All together - don't they look lovely! The pink/purple one is sold but the others are in my Folksy shop. Sorry to keep banging on about the shop - I am trying to get some sales, to make it worth my while using Folksy. Ignore me if you hate blogs touting their wares!

For FRAN...

You asked for 'pinky purples' and this actually works, despite me saying it wouldn't! I really hope you like it - if not, I'll put it in my shop and make another one for you.

Some Things I Have Been Making

The top two are very similar and use exactly the same craft ingredients. I am pleased with them as they are very cute in real life. The two bracelets are made using the same pattern (two-drop peyote) but the higher one I have adapted from the pattern as I didn't like the closure on the original.

Two More Valentines

Simple yet effective
Patchwork style

These two cards were made today when I was having a play. I am not as happy with the patchwork card as the other one, because it took so long and nothing seemed to finish it in the right way. You know when you get that thing (in any craft) where you keep adding bits and changing bits but it doesn't come out right! Most of these seem to end up in the bin, or, if they are jewellery, in the bead box.

I do now think it is nice, having had a break from it and seeing it again with fresh eyes. It just took too much of my time and would not be with making again.

More Cards...

I am back into card-making again for a while. Some I am more happy with than others, but it is nice to be back in the card frame of mind.

Another Stripy 'Cordoba' Bracelet

This time I used 3mm cube beads instead of 4mm so the bracelet has turned out narrower. The colours are hard to see (blooming winter light) but they are kind of 'egyptian' - turquoise, gold, bronze etc. I am really pleased with how it has turned out and it will be going in my Folksy shop asap.

Tubby Tuesday and More Bling

Weight loss this week = 2.5lbs. Thank goodness. You have no idea how hard it was for me to stay on track all last week. I have a Christmas do to go to and wanted to be in a positive frame of mind for that. At least I know that my dress fits and I will look passable! This ring is to go with the outfit. It is incredibly 'bling' but all my outfit is the obligatory black, so I want something to sparkle. I am making some earrings too - not too much but a couple of sparkly accents.

Swarovski 'Bling Rings'

Aren't they gorgeous! And to think that a few months ago I didn't like anything sparkly (unless the real McCoy!) These are from a book I bought in a cheap shop. I have recently been having a Swarovski spending spree and decided to dig the book out.

Daisy Beaders - Christmas Items

I had another lovely day beading with Daisy Beaders on Saturday. We made the above items and they were great to make - not too hard, but enough to make you think. The bauble is not finished yet as I have to do the remaining tassles.

Earrings For Course and Blog Giveaway From Calico Heart

Not a good picture of the bag as it is full of my stuff! The inside has a lovely lining and the other side is denimy material. If you want better pictures, go to My Calico Heart Thanks again Stephanie.
The earrings go with the necklace in my last post. I am inordinately pleased with them as they are totally hand-made, except for the ear-wires. I made the hoops and everything...(saddo, but pleased with myself!)

Bead Bracelet

This was inspired by an article in Bead Magazine. I really loved the look of the project, but, being me, I wanted to make it different! I have used glass pearls, labradorite nuggets, labradorite round 6mm beads and fire-polished facet beads.

The Thursday Night Project - 16 July

OK, so I cheated a little as I made it during the day! I knew that I was going to the gym in the evening, so I finished this while Max was at school. It has literally taken me months to make as it was ordered by a friend in December (blush). She has been very patient with me though and I have finally finished it.

Another Freeform Peyote Bracelet

This was made with the beads that I had from all my cut up projects. It fits my wrist beautifully and the colours merge in a pretty way without being too samey.

Another Netting Pattern - Nephertiti

I got the pattern for this from the internet. It is so much easier to understand than the last one and, once you have done a few loops, it is not necessary to refer to the pattern. You are supposed to use 4mm facets at all of the junctions, but I decided to also use 10° Toho triangles and 8° seed beads, to make the work curve more. After a section using 4mm facet beads, I decided to cut down the width and only use the triangles and larger seed beads. I really like the effect and am going to make it into a choker for my course. The earrings are already planned too, and I think the whole set will be stunning.
