Another Netting Pattern - Nephertiti

I got the pattern for this from the internet. It is so much easier to understand than the last one and, once you have done a few loops, it is not necessary to refer to the pattern. You are supposed to use 4mm facets at all of the junctions, but I decided to also use 10° Toho triangles and 8° seed beads, to make the work curve more. After a section using 4mm facet beads, I decided to cut down the width and only use the triangles and larger seed beads. I really like the effect and am going to make it into a choker for my course. The earrings are already planned too, and I think the whole set will be stunning.

Peyote Discs - Finished!

Not an excellent photo of the necklace I'm afraid, so I hope to take another soon. But, you can see (along with my double chin) that it sits nicely on the neck. I made side bands of peyote stitch and attached ribbons to tie the choker with. The earrings are incredibly simple as the choker is such a statement piece. I wore it today, to show my C&G class and it was very comfortable, despite me not really liking things too close to my neck.

Peyote Discs Continued...

This is what I have done with the discs so far. I am making a choker and a pair of earrings and intend on being able to wear them to my course tomorrow, so they are going to double up as my TTNP on Crafter...oo tonight too! I think this is probably the most work-intensive piece I have ever made but I am proud that it is my own creation (apart from the actual pattern for the disc). I will NOT be making another one though as I think I could easily make these discs in my sleep now!

Egyptian Style Necklace/Choker

This was made from a pattern I bought at the bead fair at Five Lakes yesterday. The necklace takes about 6 hours to make but I think is worth every second. I bought some bulk beads from GJ Beads too and wanted to use them, so made it in green beads. Not normally my colour but I might be persuaded after this!
I have tried it on and it is just longer than a choker and sits in the hollow of the neck. It will go into my Folksy shop soon, when my fingers have recovered!

Garnet & Sterling Silver Necklace/Dual-Wrap Bracelet

I decided to go down the more upmarket route with this one! I used Sterling Silver findings and beads with 6mm garnet round beads. It can be worn as a choker or wrapped twice around the wrist for a stylish bracelet. It is going in my Folksy shop.

Finished Commission Pieces

If I say so myself, these do look lovely on. They work up quite quickly once you get into a rhythm but are a really nice stitch.

Spiral Bracelet

I made a necklace months ago and my friend always said that she wanted it. She recently emailed me to ask me to make a matching bracelet. I managed to get two of the four different beads to match perfectly but the other two were slightly wrong and I could see that they were not exactly the same. So, because I didn't have another toggle to match the one on the necklace anyway, I decided to unpick it and start again. I have made the bracelet and the necklace is a WIP. Imagine the bracelet, exactly the same except a few inches longer.

Week 6 - C&G Course

Pearl and Seed Bead Choker:

This is the first piece that I would actually wear (from the course). The course specified one row of right-angle weave only, so that is all we had to make. I am going to make a cuff in several rows though as I think it will be stunning!

Peyote Stitch Mother of Pearl Pendant Necklace

This necklace went really well and I think it is stunning on. It is a choker length and I think that I am going to work up a few more for my Folksy shop...

Week 4 - C & G Course

Daisy Flower Chain - samples and finished project. NOT my type of thing at all, although they make nice chains for children. The red chain can be wrapped twice around the wrist or worn as a choker necklace.
