Altered Present for Friend

I wasn't happy with the cross-stitch I had done for my friend because the threads were visible behind the Aida fabric. So, I pulled it apart and cut all the threads off - which meant that it needed re-mounting. I am much happier with this look as it is more subtle. The peacock pattern was lovely to stitch - really quick and easy, which always makes me happy!

Cube Bracelet

This bracelet is based on previous ones I have made form the Bead and Button Books. However, I changed it slightly and am really pleased with the way it came out. I think that the colours are lovely together, with the black really benefitting from the petrol sheen.

Beaded Bead Earrings

I am so pleased with the way these turned out. I used the pattern from my C&G course, but did my own thing. I would wear them myself, but they are going in my Folksy shop...

Birthday Present for Friend

I never know what to get my friends. They all seem to appreciate the personal touch, so I made a cross-stitch picture for her. The photo is not the best as it is dark - and if you look very carefully, you can see my reflection! The flowers are by Prima.

Dog Card Commission

My Mum's friend phoned me this morning, asking for a card for a special friend who loves dogs. I really hope she likes this one. I love it!

'Bright' Partner Challenge

Further to the glimpses shown a few days ago, here is the finished piece. It is a very short necklace and the pendant hangs in the hollow of the throat. I thought that the chain should be understated as the pendant is large and colourful. Having tried it on, I can confirm that it is comfortable and hangs beautifully. This piece is going to go into the Crafter...oo Comic Relief Shop on Folksy.

More Cards...

This one is for a man. I always struggle to make cards for men anyway and I don't even know this one. I was really pleased with how it turned out - it actually looks a bit arty!

Crafter...oo 'Bright' Partner Challenge

I have been paired up with Rachel at GlamGlass Gifts for this challenge. She made the glass pendant and I needed to make something to hang it from. I am about 1/3 of the way through, but thought I would post a picture at this point, just for interest.

A5 Cards

These have been made for a friend. I was really chuffed with how the embossing folder (dots) worked in my old Sizzix machine as it was not designed by the same company.

Vogue Pattern Bag

Of course I started with the easiest of the four on the pattern! No zips or buttons to contend with. The fabric is a cottony faux denim - very lightweight but fairly strong. It would make a great beach bag.

Another Netted Spiral

This time in pinks. Really pretty!

Teal and Aqua Netted Spiral Bracelet

This bracelet is from a Minerva Spirals calendar - November 2009 page. It was easy to do but looks really effective in the colours I chose.

Netted Cabouchon - Mark Two

Made with a Picture Jasper cabouchon with grey and cranberry beads.

Garnet & Sterling Silver Necklace/Dual-Wrap Bracelet

I decided to go down the more upmarket route with this one! I used Sterling Silver findings and beads with 6mm garnet round beads. It can be worn as a choker or wrapped twice around the wrist for a stylish bracelet. It is going in my Folksy shop.

Week 3 - C & G Course

Again, not a good photo! I can't wait for the summer and some decent light. Anyway, this is 'brick stitch around a large bead' - rather effective if you ignore that it looks like something out of 'Alien'! The colours really work although that doesn't show in the photo. I am planning a necklace out of it - not sure how yet though...

Crafter...oo and Comic Relief

The lovely Kerry from PennyDog has set up a charity Folksy page - all proceeds go to Comic Relief, and all the items for sale come from Crafter...oo posters. If you click this picture link, you will be taken to a page full of crafty goodies for sale. Please remember that none of the participants make anything from this, so dig deep in the name of charity!

Kerry at Pennydog wanted me to make her a chain roll, to take her chains to fairs. She wanted more fabric bars than I had ever used before, but it just works I think! I added a little pocket on the front, to allow some storage for findings or pendants (or anything else small...)
Excuse the bad pictures - the sun was beginning to set by the time I had made the piece.

Necklace To Match the Oat Sphere Earrings

The design is very simple because the earrings and necklace tassle are quite fussy. The necklace slips over the head and sits around the cleavage, so would be perfect for polo necked tops. I deliberately made the necklace longer so it wouldn't clash when the earrings were also being worn.

This necklace is going to be one of my final projects on the C&G Course. Part of the final requirement is 6 sets of necklaces and earrings.

Spiral Necklace

This necklace is absolutely stunning - the photos do not show the colours properly, which is a shame. It is approximately 15 inches long, so sits at the base of the neck. I absolutely love it but it is going in my Folksy shop...
