Thirsty? Try root beer and blackcurrant...

I am really happy with this bracelet. It feels light-weight but substantial, has a lovely 'clinking' sound when you wear it and the colours look delicious together.

An aqua version of the last bracelet...and it is in focus!

I really love these two bracelets. I made the aqua one tonight and aim to make a root beer coloured one tomorrow. Mixing the accent beads and making the loops flow is so rewarding. I also love catching a glimpse of a sparkly bead when I am moving my hand.
The aqua bracelet was originally meant to be pure turquoise but I spotted some lime beads that I bought a couple of weeks ago, so I added them. I think the two colours go perfectly.

My Latest Bracelet

This is a bracelet taken from a book by Stephanie Burnham which I have used quite a lot for inspiration. The colours I used are totally different and I do prefer my take on it, but it was a lovely design to try.

A Laura Ashley Mini-Folder

This mini folder came free on the front of a craft magazine. I found the Laura Ashley papers in The Range and fell in love with them. I think they all match each other really nicely, but I have no idea what I will do with the finished folder!

Another Bracelet

Not particularly in focus, but I am not known for my photgraphy skills! This is the third of the Ogalala bracelets that I have made and I think I may stop there. I wasn't going to let it beat me but now I 'get' how to lace the back up and create the effect. I have found a pattern in a book that I now want to try so it is time to move on.

I need a costume...and make it snappy!

I was looking through some old photos of my crafty makes and couldn't resist putting this one from 2005 on my blog. Max needed a costume for a fancy dress party and we decided that he could go as a crocodile. I bought loads of green tissue paper and PVA glue et voila!

He really liked it although it did have a tendency to wobble alarmingly as it was not secured under the chin! I was very proud of it though.

A Daisy Card to go with the Daisy Bag...

A Daisy Bag for a Daisy Girl

This bag has been made for my son's 'girlfriend'. He is 6 and she is 7! It is her party on Sunday and he was really chuffed when I said I would make a bag for her. He thinks my makes are lovely (bless him). I really hope that, at 7, she is not too cool for a bag like this. She is fairly girly so should like the flower/pink combination.

Ogalala - ooh la la!

Well, I decided that the blooming thing was NOT going to beat me. So, I made another one. I did have a blip last night where a glass of wine got in the way of lacing up the beads correctly - ahem (blush) - but I corrected it when I got in from work. So, here is is...

The Ogalala Bracelet

This is the bracelet I made at a beading class today. I think the colours are beautiful, but it was so HARD to make that I am never making another! I bought loads of beads though and had a lovely day.

Some Agate Ear-Rings

Very simple, but I do like them. The stones are some of my purchases at Olympia.

My Mum's Cream Lariat

My mum decided that she would like a lariat, and I managed to make it in two afternoon/evenings. I'm definitely getting quicker!

Pink is the colour of the day I think!

I am really quite pleased with these. They came from a 'play' session where I just looked at colours and patterns and tried various things out. I love the use of colour and where it can lead. Sometimes the end product is only fit for the bin, but most of the time I can use it or at least salvage something of use from it.

A Pair of Ear-Rings and a Birthday Card

I have finally made a card...well, I had to for Mark's birthday or he would have sulked!!! I also made these ear-rings a couple of weeks ago, but had to fiddle with them before I was happy.

I've been tagged by Mee Crafty

See link at top of blog...

4 jobs I have had:

Client Account Administrator for a property management company. One tenant told me I was like Arnie in 'The Terminator' because I made him pay his rent!

Temp in the Personnel Department of the local college, while I was pregnant with Max. I stayed there for the whole of my pregnancy.

Weight Watchers Leader. Not that you would believe that if you saw me now! It was a fantastically rewarding job. I discovered that I am good at dealing with people and can chat to anyone really. I used to be really shy, so that was a wonderful thing to realise.

Training Supervisor for a famous training company. This is my current job and I LOVE it. Again, meeting people and dealing with them on a daily basis is a main part of the role. My sister calls it the 'pink and fluffy' side of working!

4 favourite films:

Truly Madly Deeply
A Room With a View
Constantine
The Philadelphia Story (Blimey, I'm sure there are loads more, but my mind has gone blank!)

4 places I've been:

Lake Garda - the wine, ice-cream, coffee...and gorgeous Italian men!
New York (Honeymoon) - stayed in the Waldorf...
New England - in the 'fall' of course! Boston was great and so was Rhode Island.
Devon - the most beautiful place in the world in my humble opinion.

4 places I've lived:

Colchester
Colchester
Colchester
Colchester!

4 favourite tv shows:

Torchwood
Doctor Who
Angel
Lost

4 favourite radio programs:

I only ever listen to Radio 4, so Steve Wright
Jonathan Ross
Ken Bruce
Terry Wogan does make me snigger, but I don't like the music

4 favourite foods:

Caesar Salad
Red Onion and Goat's Cheese tartlet
Rare Steak
Spaghetti Carbonara

I can't list the sweet ones as there are too many!

4 places I'd rather be:

Machu Picchu - somewhere I have always wanted to go
London - such a vibrant and historical place
New York - there is nothing to compare it
Florence - a wonderful place full of happy memories

4 I nominate:

I don't 'know' many bloggers, so...

Greebo's Whiskers

Hopefully I will know more blogs soon.

Additional white chips to make the first ones more even...

I added more white chips and think it looks much better now!

I just knew I wasn't happy with it...

A Labradorite and Pearl Necklace (with non-specific quartz-y chips!)

This necklace was made in a similar way to the bracelet further down the blog. I think I may have gone one step too far with the quartz chips, but I'm not sure. I am going to look at it in the daylight and make my mind up!
