Different colour scheme to usual

I fell in love with this banded agate pendant and had to have it! So, I bought mother of pearl, onyx, haematite and freshwater pearls to go with it. I am really pleased with it. I am possibly going to change the bit that the pendant hangs from as I am not 100% satisfied that it is totally secure. I might give square stitch a go to make one!

Another flower - with tighter stitching

I think the colours are delicious - although I need to buy some thread that matches exactly! I only had a pastel yellow that was close but it shows on the top layer. I changed the pattern of the flower a little from the one in the magazine and it went really well. I apparently now know Peyote Stitch!

Something from the latest 'Bead Magazine'

I loved the look of these flowers in the magazine. But, blimey, HOW MUCH WORK were they!!! I only made one and am hoping to turn it into a brooch. I did get better at the orphan peyote stitch as I went along, but many of the earlier petals had to be cut up and restarted!

Birthday present for friend

I wasn't entirely happy with the green bracelet because the clasp is hard to do up. So, I made an additional bracelet that I really like and decided to give her both of them!

Friend's birthday bracelet

This bracelet is made using the Small Dutch Spiral stitch that I learnt on my beading day. I like it but am not totally satified that it is good enough to give away. This is the second bracelet I have made for this friend, so let's hope that third time is lucky!

I'm the saddest person in Sadsville, Sadland...

I have made two Christmas cards...Well I couldn't resist because the paper (Figgy Pudding from Basic Grey) was calling to me!

Saturday, 21 June 2008

The lovely Chloe at Mee Crafty sent these two awards to all of us on the Mumsnet Craft blog. What a sweetie! We all chat about our craft challenges and delights. All of us have totally different styles and it is an honour to know them all.

More Cards

These were made from the stash I bought today! Fab things...loads of ink pads and two sets of Basic Grey papers. I also got the Sizzix mini file folder and some word stamps.

The second beading day project finished

This is very pretty finished. So much so that I am working on one for my friend's birthday. She likes green, so I have bought some wonderful beads to make it with.

The finished necklace from my beading day.

Mum's present

This is the cushion that Tillyboo at 23 Beech Hill made for me. I have had it for ages, but didn't want to blog it in case Mum saw it! She absolutely loves it! Thanks Tillyboo!

I also gave her these ear-rings (with a matching bracelet which is not shown).

Beading day makes

It was a fab day. I made these two part projects and added a lot more once I got home. The black and white necklace is nearly finished now. The berry work is going to be a bracelet and might be a birthday present for a friend, depending on how it turns out!

A simple necklace

I decided to make something simple but pretty and this came out. I like it but think it would perhaps be better with a pendant hanging from it.

Some new, some amended...

I have been off work today, feeling poorly. I had a long sleep in the morning and managed to do some craft in the afternoon!

Some more cards...

I would really love some feedback on the house card. I drew it myself and can't decide if it is good enough to give to someone. Is it obvious that the smoke makes a heart? I am probably going to colour in key things like the front doors, and do something to the white space at the top and bottom.

Some more 'faux' turquoise jewellery and two more commission cards

The jewellery is a bit hush hush! The cards are (still) for my friend's commission. I have two large and one small left to make. I am very pleased with the 'Carol' one as I love the papers (Basic Grey - 'Blush' collection).

And another commission

My mum asked me to make a bracelet for her best friend. The friend apparently likes 'bile' green (you know, that light pea green summery colour!) and mum wanted a bracelet in that colour. I said that all that colour might be a bit over ther top, and she agreed, so I have added in some colours that blend.

Aah...these are more like it!

I had another go and like these ear-rings much more. My friend wasn't keen on the others either, but I hope she will like these.

My jewellery comission

This is the set I made for my friend Fran. I am ecstatically happy with the necklace, fairly pleased with the bracelet and not so sure about the ear-rings! Comments would be very much appreciated...

Bracelet for my Mum

I was on a roll with jewellery, and remembered that I had some old fake pearls that I could use to finish Mum's half-made bracelet. So, I got working and am really pleased with the result. I hope she is too...
